Shane Scarth and Joel Peter Levack, hailing from Pickering and Hebden Bridge, met at All is Joy Studios in 2024 and started their artistic partnership via Levack Studios, culminating in the First Dance Exhibition.
Shane entered the duo from a dance background, bringing a love of contemporary and retro music, abstract art-style and physicality to his work. Joel, by contrast, entered as an avid explorer, collage and graphic artist.
Together, the pair have established a great working relationship, developing a joint style of semi-abstract paintings and several mixed media works on paper. The canvases featured in the exhibition are worked on by both artists. This strong collaboration is also evidenced in Shane's new proclivity for painting and Joel's newfound dance ability.
